Why and how did virgina plantation owners create a brutal, racist slavionial-owning society?

The exact same way that the Africans and Moslems did. The only difference was that there was not usually an excess of slaves to "be gotten rid of" in the Americas, where as there WAS in Africa and the Middle East. So the Africans and Moslems sold them to the white people.
